Pot pie

The month of clearing out the fridge continued this evening as we took some of the remaining turkey from Thanksgiving from the freezer and made a giant batch of turkey pot pie filling. Allie picked up some parsnips to augment the carrots, celery, onion, green beans and frozen peas we already had around the house. I also tossed in the last two thai chilis for a bit of a kick.

We tend to make a sort of curry pot pie when we work with poultry. This time I think I may have added a tad too much heat though. Pot pie isn't really supposed to be spicy.

This weekend we'll roll out some dough and get the pie(s) baked up.

Meat pie is a tasty treat around here. One of my favorites is the Game of Thrones inspired Beef and Bacon pie we often make. In place of a picture of the pies we're yet to make from today's filling, here's a shot of one of those.
