Day One

It’s a new year. I know there’s going to be a lot to come. But I’m ready to stand side by side with all who matter to me, and face this year head-on. There are going to be many challenges, but there are also going to be many happy moments with my friends and family.
I’m officially a certified diver, and I’m very excited to see Oscar become one too. He loves looking a hermit crabs, fish, and conchs on the shore, so I’m grateful that he will have a chance to be with these creatures. And be where they live.
Dad decided to start the year off with a 365 project, and I’m doing good so far. I guess that’s saying kind of a lot since I’ve only done one day so far. But I have faith in myself, and belief that I’ll make it more than a month, at least. Of course, it will be harder keeping up with it once school starts back up again, but hopefully I‘ll still make an effort. After all, there’s so many things I can take a picture of. Oscar’s silly faces, Ahsoka’s silly faces, plants, art projects, and more. I’m excited to try.
I’ve never actually tried New Year’s resolutions, but I’ve tried goals. So I’ll start there.
One goal for the year for me is to try my best on this 365 project. I’ve been doing good so far, but I know for sure it’s going to get harder.
Another goal for me this year is to work more on my books. I love writing, but I’ve always written a little, then quit. I want to actually get somewhere in my stories.
I want to be with my family more. Like I said, it’s going to be a hard year, full of obstacles, but I want to face it with people I love. I want to make memories with them. I want to be there for them and with them.
So my point is, I know that the year is going to be tough, but I also know I have people I can count on, and goals.
