Been a while

Starting with Sunday, January 26th. Mom, Dad and I went to the art shanty’s today. We had so much fun and I hope to do it again this year.

Oscar had a birthday party with his friend Ian, but our family didn’t want that to be a reason to miss out on the shantys, and so we went!

There were tons of fun different shanty’s, like a loom shed where you could learn how to use a loom, a banned book shed, a disco karaoke shed, a light shed, a poetry balancing shed, and so much more.

I could tell each was crafted with care, and that each was artful and had a reason.

After we went to the shantys, Mom, Dad and I went out for dinner at Tilia, and ate a delicious hardy meal of burgers.

I had a lot of fun and enjoyed it so much.

Monday, January 27th.

Tomorrow is the spelling bee, and I’ve got so many feelings.

I know I’ve studied hard, worked hard, and I know I’m going to give it my all, and try my best.

I know that even if I fail, I’ll still be proud of how hard I worked. And even if I win, I’ll be even happier. Especially with how competitive I am.

I’ve studied words. So much.

I was so so happy when I found out I made it in the spelling bee, and I’ve been working hard to win it ever since.

I even downloaded an app called word club thats supposed to have all of the spelling bee words on it. I did that, and even got quizzed by family and friends. They would look at a piece of paper that I was given, choose a word, and I would spell it.

I am pretty confident, and so excited!

Tuesday, January 28th.

Okay so, I didn’t win first place. Or second. But I did win third, and considering I was the last standing 6th grader, and I was up against 23 other people, I’m pretty proud.

I failed on my word defibrillator, and mom says I’m probably going to remember that forever.

I think it’s worth it though, because not only did I have fun, I felt like the popular kid at school.

All day, everyone was congratulating me. Even people I didn’t know or didn’t have a relation with. Teachers, students, random people. I didn’t notice when I was spelling that the whole school was watching me.

I’d seen Mrs. Jamie have a computer, but I didn’t know what it was. Well, it was a meeting to the whole school so they could see it. Live.

3rd, 2nd, and 1st place all got an Andersen water bottle, pen, and notebook, and honestly, it’s pretty cool! Dad also got cupcakes and bought me some orchids! I’m so proud!

Wednesday, January 29th.

I had piano today. I did pretty good.

When we walked out of piano lessons, the sky was beautiful. It was still bright out, even though it was after five. Mom and I were smiling.

Mom explained that the dark seasons put her in seasonal depression sometimes, and this is what helped a lot.

The sky was pretty astonishing. Streaks of yellow, pink, and orange like a painting. I had seen some pretty nice sunsets, but this one was spectacular. Still not my best, but pretty darn close.

I took some pictures on mom’s phone, regretting not having brought my camera. We walked down to the lake and took some photos. I hope mom got some good ones. I had a lot of fun with her, and this was my daily highlight.

Thursday, January 3oth.

I tried to get some good pictures of the orchids today.

Surprisingly, dad ended up buying me my favorite flower for winning the spelling bee. Orchids!

I’m not sure why I like them so much. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I’m writing a book and her name is Orchid. Maybe not. I don’t know.

Anyways, it was the end of the day, I was tired, but I wasn’t going to break my 365 streak for that. No way.

So I took a picture of one of my favorite and well earned prizes for winning the spelling bee I worked so hard on.

I was sick today, so I missed school and didn’t have anything exciting to take a picture of, and I settled on these orchids.

Friday, January 31st.

Last day of January, and my 31st day of the 365 project. I’ve been committing every day, and so far I haven’t quit. I’ve stopped writing, which is why I decided to do this mass post.

Honestly, It’s probably going to be a 1000 word post which is pretty cool.

Anyways, I was back at school today.

We chilled and watch a movie tonight. We watched “The world fastest Indian” It was about a guy who was getting older and soon wouldn’t be able to pursue the dream he wanted for 25 years, so he set out to make it happen.

It was such a fun movie, and we made extra cookies as we do sometimes, so I took a picture of the delicious delicacy. Yum!

Saturday, February 1st.

Soccer Rocker Soccer Rocker Soccer Rocker! Or should I say Ski-er rocker?

Today was a big race day. It was stressful but fun. I love race days, even though I’m not very good at them. It’s the fun that matters though right?

My times weren’t great, but I did just get new skis and poles, and I have really gotten use to them yet. I’m still adjusting, and I need to get used to skis that actually work for me. Sharpened, waxed, tall, etc.

Today, I also found the soccer Rocker video and the show I used to be obsessed with. Mom Oscar and I all watched it in the kitchen, laughing at the ridiculous costumes and I had a fun time.

We finished the world’s fastest Indian today, and the movie was so great! We cuddled, laughed, talked, raced. Today was so great!

Sunday, February 2nd.

Ana and Ben came over for brunch today, and we had a blast! Mom made Swedish pancakes, a family tradition, we chatted and exchanged gifts too!

For Christmas this year, we got Ana a felted gnome I made as a keepsake and memory, and a dad jokes book for Ben.

I was so happy with the gift they got for me, which was a yarn dying kit with 5 different white dye-able skeins of yarn. I took a picture of all the colors I can dye the yarn, and I can’t wait to experiment with it!

Oscar received an air plane making kit, and one of the best gifts of all, they gave us a pretty, nice, free guitar!

It’s great. It’s a little out of tune, but it should be really ease to get tuned up. Oscar’s going to switch to guitar instead of drums, and I can’t wait to hear him!

Monday, February 3rd.

Finally onto my last day of the mass post.

I love crochet, and I’m excited to invest more and more into it. I’m currently making a bucket hat, and I hope it will turn out!

It’s been a while since I crocheted. I stopped for a little because I felt like I was doing it all wrong. Like I was literally the only person that crocheted as bad as I did.

But I know it all comes with practice, and not practicing isn’t going to help me get better. So I took this as a chance to try and make something that will make me feel good about crocheting again, and bring me back into my crochet-loving spirits. I hope to keep trying.
