From 80 to 8

On Wednesday morning, we packed and left our Cozumel apartment in 80 degree weather. Today, it was 8 degrees outside.

I still wanted to get outside, and I wanted to get my shot for the day. I recruited the kids for a sunset walk to the grocery store by way of the icy lake.

I regretted bringing a wide lens rather than one that could catch a more interesting shot of the windsurfers. I tried to encourage them to use their own 200mm lens, but they weren't interested. I'm not sure they wanted to be there at all. I felt so much self doubt and guilt for pushing this on them. I often feel that the ways I seek the closeness I need only pushes people away.

I will keep trying to find the parts of this process that I benefit from and enjoy, for my own benefit.
